Helen Sharp

Hi, I’m Helen, Practice Owner and a Qualified, compassionate Integrative counsellor.
I bring not only professional training but also a rich depth of real-world experience to my work.
Counselling is my second career, one I chose with deep intention after years of working in Sales & Marketing. That journey shaped who I am today and gave me a genuine understanding of how life’s complexities and work pressures can affect our mental and emotional wellbeing.
My previous career taught me the value of listening, empathy, and resilience—skills that now deeply inform how I support clients in therapy. I understand what it means to navigate change, feel stuck, question your direction, and take bold steps toward something new. That’s why I’m especially passionate about working with people in transition, whether it’s in their career, relationships, identity, or emotional life.
I work with individuals over the age of 14 facing challenges such as anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, grief, trauma, life dissatisfaction, and relationship difficulties.
My therapeutic approach is integrative—drawing from a range of evidence-based models—always shaped around your unique needs and goals. I offer a warm, respectful, and non-judgemental space where you can explore what matters most to you.
Counselling, for me, is not just a profession—it’s a calling.
I believe in the power of human connection and the courage it takes to show up for yourself.
I am also trained in ERP Therapy which is a CBT approach for the treatment of OCD.
I work with couples and individuals across a wide range of relationship styles and experiences, including monogamous and consensually non-monogamous relationships. I offer a warm, respectful, and non-judgmental space for people of all sexual orientations and identities, including LGBTQ+ clients. My approach is inclusive and collaborative, supporting you to explore your relationship in a way that feels authentic, safe, and meaningful to you.
I am also kink-aware and affirming, with an understanding of diverse expressions of intimacy, power, and connection. I provide a safe, confidential, and non-pathologising space where clients can explore their experiences without fear of judgment, working at a pace that feels comfortable and respectful of individual boundaries and consent.
If you're considering therapy, I invite you to reach out. You don't have to have it all figured out—just a willingness to begin.
